One of the successfull summer 2001 trips was crossing of the western part of the Lower Tatra ridge. To be more concrete I did west part (Donovaly-Chopok) during the weekend and the rest of our group (Petra, Blanka, Petr, Martin) continued with eastern part of the ridge (Chopok-Králova Hola) for following three days.
We took a sleeper train from Prague to Ruzomberok. Train is (as usual) delayed and we missed connecting bus to Donovaly pass. Fortunately next bus is 45 minutes later. Therefore using time we did refresment in railway snack. On Dovovaly pass we again hiding ourselves under parasol of the local restaurant. It is hot and not to much willingness to climb ... After a short walk we are meeting our friends which took our backpacks a little bit further. Slowly starting to ascent ...
It's horribly hot and we're climbing up to the hill. The forest is gradually passing to grass ridge.
Together with Peter we're jumping for "photo safari". There is a lot of butterflies flying around. I have advantage with my digital camera and hefty memory against analog photo camera. You dont like phot, just delete it! I am claiming to everyone that finaly with digital camera I discovered the beauty of freedom in photography...
The ridge steeply descending to Hiadelske pass decorated by the electricity towers. We are taking water from the spring just 100 m below the pass.
