[ Map ] DAY 5

As usually we started day at 5 a.m. and at 6 a.m. we are heading towards mountains. The road climbes up to mountain pass Tizi n Tichka (2200m).

The scenery is very colorfull: green fields, brown hills, white mountains, blue sky...

Just before the pass we went out from the main road and made trip to small mountain village Telouet. Village is known from his famous kasbah - palace of Glaoui tribe. Untill 1956 this tribe had independence and Telouet was capital. It remind me just a little bit ruins of Bam in Iran.

On a return way we took a goverment employee which counted number of shool childer in villages. When we passed main ridge landscape changed rapidly. The northern slopes of High Atlas are much more humid and are covered with forests. Everywhere are fileds of blossoming mountain flowers. Also we saw persons which are selling minerals along the road. After short survey we found that minerals are artifically created or at least artifially colored. In a noon time we arrived to Marakesh. First we planed to visit famous Majorelle gardens but unfortunatelly there was "siesta". Of course next stop was square El-Fna (refreshing juice from fresh oranges) and mosque Koutoubia.

Afternoon we are heading to Asni - Imlil. During the way we met dwo Czech buses and a lot of czech and slovak people. Based on advice of our friends we turned right in Imlil and by "real" pista we climbed up to mountains.

After half hour of rough drive road ends in Omar's hotel near vilage Around. Latitude is 1800m. We made recognition through river bank up to valley. Sunset is nice and weather seems to be O.K. We made last preparation for tomorrow's climb to the highest mountain of the Nort Africa.
